Zero Stars! Hidden Return Policy

I had a terrible shopping experience I need to warn everyone about. I was traveling overseas and bought two small, incredibly expensive beanies for my daughters as presents. I asked the salesman if they could be returned if my daughters didn't like them, and he assured me they could. Imagine my shock when my daughters later went back to the store and were told that there was no cash returns policy, a policy that was only disclosed on the printed receipt
after
the purchase. The continued lack of transparency and the abysmal way my two daughters were treated by the female store owner/manager was shameful.
If I could give zero stars for this JJ Hats NYC store I would.
This experience showed me that this company has a very proud history that seems to be changing fast and not for the better. I felt compelled to contact the customer service line to hold them accountable for their deceptive trade practices.
Customer: I am calling about a purchase made at your 5th Avenue location. Your salesman assured me that two expensive beanies could be returned, but the store manager later refused the refund, claiming a no-return policy was in place.
